altWelcome to WorkforceMaturity.com, the Integral People CMM discussion platform!

This site is still under construction and will over time be extended with information, experiences and best practices about improving organizational maturity and climate.

Our focus area will be the People Capability Maturity Model (P-CMM). Although this model was developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) as a complement to the various maturity CMMI models for software engineering and services we believe it deserves much wider attention than the current general acceptance in technical organizations. In our opinion HR professionals in any sector could benefit from this model for assessing and improving workforce management process maturity.
The People CMM model offers a very powerful and pragmatic road map for improving the efficiency, effectiveness and climate of organizations.
Since its release in 1995, thousands of copies of the People CMM have been distributed, and it is used world-wide by organizations, small and large, such as IBM, Boeing, BAE Systems, Tata Consultancy Services, Ericsson, Lockheed Martin and QAI (India) Ltd. We hope this site will contribute to the use of the model and to the resulting increased maturity of workforce management processes.

People CMM News - People CMM Model to be updated

On January 3, 2011, the People CMM Team at the SEI opened a 3-month public comment and change request period for members of the community to offer guidance and suggestions and to request changes to the People CMM Team on how the model should be updated to reflect current thinking in workforce practice improvement.  Comments (guidance and suggestions on what the next version of People CMM should look like) and change requests (specific changes to People CMM components such as PAs, practices, etc.) are sought for the following topics:

1.  What changes should we include in the next version of People CMM to reflect the current practices in the three foundational areas of Human Resources, Organizational Change & Development, and Total Quality Management?

2.   What changes should we include in the next version of People CMM to better align the model with the SCAMPI Method in order to increase efficiency of appraisals and reduce confusion in evidence gathering and characterization of implementation?

3.   What changes should we include in the next version of People CMM to better align the model with CMMI V1.3?

More information will be available on the SEI Website.  The People CMM Change Request document can be found at http://www.sei.cmu.edu/cmmi/tools/cr/.
